Cellulose Wall Installation

Cellulose insulation is blown into the wall cavity, providing a cocoon of protection. Unlike traditional fiberglass batt insulation, blown cellulose is installed with no gaps, voids or compressions. It fills around pipes, wires, electrical boxes, and even small areas that fiber glass batts cannot properly insulate. An M Street Home with blown cellulose insulation is going to be less drafty, quieter from outside noises, more energy efficient, and extremely environmentally friendly.

  • 85% recycled material
  • High Density to prevent heat transfer and drafts
  • Flame retardant
  • Sound proofing
  • Blown-in cavity fill with no gaps, voids, or compressions
  • Kills bugs

Spray Foam Attic Insulation

(Click image above to see a larger version)

Spray foam insulation applied to the rafters of the home change the dynamics of the attic. We are no longer relying on inefficient venting systems and moderately effective radiant barrier to reduce attic temperature. M Street Homes is using the latest advancements in building science to create an unvented attic which will be within 3-5 degrees of the living area of the home throughout the year. By reducing the attic temperature in the summer as much as 50 degrees allows the air conditioner to operate in a much more efficient manner which in turn will reduce operating costs, increase comfort, and will extend the operating life of the air conditioning system. Eliminating the loose attic insulation also substantially reduces air born particulates in the home for easier breathing.

  • Open cell polyurethane foam insulation located in the rafters creating a conditioned and sealed attic system.
  • Blocks bugs from entering the attic
  • Attic temperature is reduced to be within 5 degrees of the living area of the home.
  • Reduces airborne particulates in the house.

Vinyl windows with Low E3 glass

Vinyl framed windows with high performance glass (low e) is a significant component in the superior energy efficiency of an M Street Home. Not only will it reduce infrared (heat) and ultraviolet (damage, fading) radiation but it will also allow all the natural visible light into the home and provide unobstructed clarity when looking out. Vinyl window frames prevent the “sweating” issue normally associated with traditional aluminum framed windows, and prevent the conduction of heat and cold from inside to outside the home.

  • Reduces Infrared Radiation (Heat) by more than 90%
  • Reflects Ultraviolet Radiation (Light that fades fabric and discolors flooring) by over 85%
  • Eliminates window frame sweating issues
  • Operate more smoothly than aluminum windows
  • Tilt-in for easy cleaning

High Performance HVAC
